Psychotherapy for Shoreditch, the City of London & Borehamwood

Jacqueline Samuel Counselling & Therapy

Hello and welcome to my website.

My name is Jacqueline and I am a UKCP and BACP registered psychotherapist and counsellor with nearly 20 years of clinical experience.

I know that finding a therapist can be a daunting task. So I have tried to include as much information as possible on this site to help you make the right choice for you.

Through the pages of my website, I describe how I work and how psychotherapy can help you.

My own style of working is informed by attachment theory as well as by CBT and hypnotherapy which combine to give me a broad array of tools with which to understand emotional distress. I see psychotherapy as a safe, confidential and creative space where you are free to explore the feelings and situations that led to your distress, and where you can say the unsayable without judgement.

You can find the answers to many of the most commonly asked questions about psychotherapy on the How Psychotherapy Works page. The Getting Started page explains the process of starting psychotherapy which may be particularly useful if this is your first experience of counselling or psychotherapy.

If you live or work in or around the City of London, my office is easy to reach, with lots of public transportation options just minutes away.

My Borehamwood practice is just a short walk from the Elstree and Borehamwood Thameslink station, and there is also some street parking available close by.

If you would like to go straight ahead and book an appointment, you can do that directly if you click here.

Do feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.

I look forward to hearing from you,

How I work

My focus is on using the safety of the therapeutic relationship to help you to address life's challenges in a creative and meaningful way.

My style of working is informed by Attachment Theory, and by my earlier trainings and experience in CBT and hypnotherapy.

These combine to give me a broad array of tools with which to consider and work with emotional difficulties

Getting started

Every human being has the freedom to change at any instant.” ~ Viktor Frankl

If this is your first experience of psychotherapy or counselling, you might find the idea of talking about yourself a little daunting.

That's why I invite you to schedule an initial consultation session where you can try it out and see for yourself how it feels.
